Course description
The course Spanish Grammar, advanced level, studies complex syntactic aspects based on the
system of rules and usage.
General objective
Improve the grammatical competence through the analysis of syntactic aspects that are
problematic for advanced students.
Specific objectives
1. Analyze grammatical aspects related to the system of rules of the language and its rules
of use based on the noun syntagm.
2. Analyze grammatical aspects related to the system of rules of the language and its rules
of use based on the verb syntagm.3. Apply the system of rules of the language in communicative contexts.
4. Put the system of rules into practice in real communication situations.

Grammatical contents
1.0 Noun syntagm: pronominal system, gender-number agreement1.1 Determinatives
1.2 Adjectives
1.3 Pronouns
2.0 Verb syntagm: verb classification: morphosyntactic criteria (based on sentence function)
2.1 Auxiliary verbs (haber, ser, estar), passive forms, compound forms.
2.2 Copulative verbs
2.3 Predicate verbs: transitive, intransitive, pronominal, impersonal
3.0 Indicative mood / subjunctive mood. Constructions with one choice only, constructions that
allow alternation. Principle of subsidiarity.
4.0 Conditionality: types of conditional clauses from the speaker’s perspective of reality.Activities
