Description and Objectives
This subject approaches European society through contemporary European films. It attempts to provide a perspective of the social, economic and ideological changes, taking the main directors and films dealing with these themes as a reference.Content
The content involves a brief theoretical part with a historical and ideological introduction, as well as the different movements emerging from contemporary European films. A selection of films for each topic will be analyzed in class, together with representative film fragments for each block dealt with. Students will be given a dossier with tasks for each film seen and topics related to the films’ content.Assessment
80% compulsory attendance (according to CLM regulations)The final grade will be:
35% class work
30% participation, homework and reading specific documents
35% group presentation (1 per group)
